Albert H. Davis, Jr.

Albert H. Davis, Jr., 79, of Kewanee, died Tuesday, August 2, 2022, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria. Albert was born December 29, 1942, in Minneapolis, MN, the son of Albert, Sr. and Juanita (Clayton) Davis. Albert attended Kewanee Schools, graduating with the class of 1962. Albert married Mariellen DeSkeere on March 15, 1964, in Kewanee; she survives.

Albert is also survived by three sons, David (Rebecca) Davis, Cedar Falls, IA, Dustin (Verna) Davis, Kewanee, Dale (Rania) Davis, York Haven, PA; six grandchildren, Andrea Tweedell, Allison Davis, David (Giovanna) Davis, Jr., Jarrett (McKinzey) Davis, Elizabeth Davis, and Devyn Davis; two great grandchildren, Saige Davis and Lucy Tweedell; siblings, Margo Brooks, Erie, IL, Sharon (Rich) Fleer, Crystal Beach, TX, and Keith (Debbie) Davis, Kewanee. Albert was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Linda Sheets.

Albert worked as a machinist for Boley Tool and Machine, Peoria, retiring in 2008. He was active in the First Christian Church during his younger years. Albert enjoyed woodworking, refinishing furniture, and metal machining. He enjoyed traveling with Mariellen to Europe and Brazil. He liked following his kids’ and grandchildren’s sports. Albert was a jokester. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 pm, Friday, August 5, 2022, at Golnick-Schueneman Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10:30 am, Saturday, August 6, 2022, at the funeral home. Pastor John Reside will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the First Christian Church.
