Alec E. Dillender, 25, of Kewanee, passed away Tuesday, September 30, 2025. Alec was born on March 16, 2000, in Kewanee, the son of Roland P. McNaught and April L. (Dillender) McNaught. Alec graduated from Kewanee High School with the class of 2018. Alec attended MTI in Moline after High School.
Alec is survived by his parents; brother, Austin Hall, Kewanee; maternal grandparents, Larry and Sara Dillender, Sr.; Kewanee; paternal grandparents, Philip and Margit McNaught, Kewanee; aunts and uncles, Larry (Angie) Dillender, Jr., Kewanee, Linda (Israel) Mora, Las Vegas, NV, Rene (Mike) Mitro, Golf port, MS, James Smith, Kewanee; and eight cousins, Maddie, Lexi, Travis, Treavor, Izzy, Sara, Kortney, Logan.
Alec worked at Wal-Mart in the Tire, Lube Express. Alec's zest for life and his unwavering support for his family and friends will be deeply missed. Alec had a passion for the arts, finding solace and expression in video games and music. Alec's poetic soul was evident in his writing of poems. Beyond his artistic endeavors, Alec was known for his quick wit and his talent for making people laugh. Alec also found solace in the tranquility of nature, often spending his time fishing. He loved his dogs; they will miss his presence. In a selfless act of brotherhood, when Austin moved to Arizona for college, Alec did not hesitate to accompany him. His decision to relocate was a testament to his generous spirit and his commitment to supporting those he cared about. Alec's presence was a source of strength and encouragement for Austin during this significant life transition. Alec's legacy is one of love, laughter, and creativity. Though he has left this world, his spirit will continue to inspire and guide us. Alec’s memory will be cherished and kept alive in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm, Saturday, October 11, 2025, at Golnick-Schueneman Funeral Home, in Alec's memory please wear jeans and a t-shirt. A Private Family Celebration of Life will be held at a later time. Memorials may be made to the Grey Matters Collective.
