Barbara "Barb" L. Dykema

Barbara “Barb” L. Dykema, 78, of Kewanee, passed away Monday, February 10, 2025, at her home. Barb was born April 14, 1946, in Kewanee, the daughter of Francis “Spike” and Wilma “Gladys” (Schmittler) McNaught. She attended Kewanee High School, graduating with the class of 1964. She graduated summa cum laude at Black Hawk East College. Barb married Stephen L. Dykema on July 26, 1969, at the First Methodist Church, Kewanee; he survives.

Barb is also survived by three children, William (Theresa) Dykema, Bettendorf, IA, Joseph (Stacy) Dykema, Kewanee, Jennifer (Jeffrey) Ferris, Buda; four grandchildren, Kaleb, Ashley, Rebecka, Katie; four great granddaughters, Gema, Addysin, Aryanna, Alyiah; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; and four siblings, Eldon McNaught, Cheryl Eilers, Rita Anthony, and Jack McNaught.

Barb was a homemaker. She enjoyed bird watching, crocheting Afghans and was an avid reader. Barb loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be from 1:00 – 5:00 pm, Sunday, February 16, 2025, at the Flemish American Club. A graveside service will take place at a later date in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
