Betty A. Catton, 97, of Sheffield, passed away Sunday, February 15, 2026, at OSF St. Luke’s Medical Center. Betty was born May 4, 1928, in Annawan, Illinois the daughter of Hippolitus and Emily (Lanshere) VanDeHandy. Betty married Harold D. Catton on September 16, 1950; he preceded her in death on November 29, 2000.
Betty is survived by two children, Deb (Bill) Younggren, Sheffield, Donna Judge, Albia, Iowa; five grandchildren, Allison Judge, Ryan (Tracey) Younggren, Jessica Younggren, Natalie (Brian) Pettit, Katie (Dain) Netland; ten great grandchildren, Kieran Judge, Kenley (Dawson) Hermsen, Seton Younggren, Rylee Younggren, Dax Judge, Simon Pettit, Sunny Netland, Chloe Younggren, Collin Netland, Lydia Netland; and two great-great grandchildren, Kohen Judge and Thelon Hermsen. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and a son in law, Mike Judge.
Betty worked as a waitress at the Highway Café in Sheffield. Betty was later a homemaker. Betty’s life was centered around her children and grandchildren. Family was first and foremost in her life. She enjoyed baking, playing cards, and playing board games. Betty was an avid Cubs fan. Betty was a member of Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church, Sheffield.
