Brenda L. Nimrick

Brenda L. Nimrick, 74, of Kewanee, passed away Saturday, February 8, 2025, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria. Brenda was born February 11, 1950, in Kewanee, the daughter of Robert and Florence (Meloen) Hayworth. Brenda attended Kewanee High School. She married Donald “Buck” Nimrick on December 24, 1966, in Kewanee, they just celebrated their 58th anniversary; he survives.

Brenda is also survived by three children, Theresa (David) Hulslander, Kewanee, Kelly (Robert) Clague, Kewanee, Robert (Heather) Nimrick, Sheffield; five grandchildren, Austin (Abby), Tyler (Katie Howard), Aaron (Shea Dzurisin), Evan, Will; four great grandchildren, Lola, Emerie, Dawson and Reid; and three who lovingly called her “grandma”,  Jaxon, Olivia, and Myles; two brothers, Richard Hayworth, Brian McVicker and a sister, Julie Elderkin; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Chris, Rita; and a brother, Barry.

Brenda worked as a CNA and later became a homecare assistant at the Henry County Health Department. Brenda had a passion for gardening. She enjoyed shopping and watching her TV Shows. Her nurturing heart extended to all creatures, as she lovingly tended to the bunnies and birds that visited her yard. Her cat, Lucy, was her constant companion. Brenda's greatest delight was found in the laughter and time she shared with her beloved grandchildren, who were the apple of her eye.

A Celebration of Life will be from 2:00 - 4:00 pm, on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at 732 Rose Street, Kewanee. Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or the Hog Capitol Wildlife Rescue and Rehab. Please leave an online condolence for Brenda’s family at www.golnickschuenemanfh.com.
