Brian S. Gillespie

Brian S. Gillespie, 50, of Kewanee, died Friday, July 12, 2024, at his home. Brian was born April 29, 1974, in Kewanee, the son of Marlin and Cathy (Kida) Gillespie. 

Brian is survived by his son, Richard Millman, Kewanee; mother, Cathy Gillespie, Kewanee; maternal grandmother, Doris Kida, Kewanee; siblings, Carrie (John) Crockett, Sarah Baker, Seth Cox, Marly Gillespie, Maggie Gillespie, Larry Gillespie, and Kelly Gillespie-Brants, all of Kewanee, and Yancy Gillespie of Annawan; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Brian was preceded in death by his father, Marlin Gillespie; maternal grandfather, Leo Kida; paternal grandparents, Ralph and Margaret “Maggie” Gillespie; 

Brian graduated from Kewanee High School and went on to receive his apprenticeship degree. During his younger years, Brian worked as an electrician and drove semis. Brian was an excellent cook, enjoyed gardening, and loved spending time with his family and pets.

Brian will be remembered for his generous, helping heart and will be deeply missed.

Visitation will be from 3:00 – 5:00 pm, Sunday, July 21, 2024, at Golnick-Schueneman Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am, Monday, July 22, 2024, at the funeral home. Pastor Andrew Christman will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family for memorial to be established.
