Brian H. Hopkins

Brian H. Hopkins, 57, of Kewanee, died Friday, June 9, 2023, at his home. Brian was born January 21, 1966, in Kewanee, the son of William and Barbara (Anderson) Hopkins. Brian graduated from Galva High School with the class of 1984. He married Kelly Strom on July 22, 2004, in Kewanee; she survives.

Brian is also survived by his mother, Barbara; two brothers, Greg and Rick Hopkins, Galva; step grandchildren, Silas Strom, Cassidy Strom, Austin Weir; special niece, Miranda “Mandy” Willson; nephew, Dylan Hopkins; two great nieces, Hannah Willson and Rae’onna Cropp; and his lifelong friend, Rob Dornik, Denver, CO. Brian was preceded in death by his father, William; stepson, Scott Strom; paternal and maternal grandparents.

Brian served in the United State Marines from 1984 until 1988 at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. He worked as a Machinist for Great Dane for 25 years. Brian loved dogs, Beagles were his favorite, especially his dog Renee. He was an avid Cubs and Bears fan. Brian was a simple man, he never asked for anything and appreciated everything. Brian loved traveling with Kelly, especially to Branson.
