Carver Beam Obituary

Carver Beam, 75, of Kewanee, died Monday, January 9, 2023, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Carver was born August 6, 1947, in Spruce Pine, NC, the son of Leslie L. and Joda (Benfield) Beam. Carver married Ruby L. Wynn on June 6, 1993, in Kewanee; she survives.

Carver is also survived by five children, Angela (John, Sr.) Werderman, Kewanee, David (Sherry) Carpenter, Ohio, Roy “Buck” (Julie) Carpenter, Kewanee, D.J. (Heather) Rosebecke, Kewanee, Linda (Nick) Yelm, Galva; 21 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and another on the way; one great-great grandchild, Hazel; and two sisters, Betty (Robert) Gish, Kewanee, Linda Jacobson, Arizona. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert Beam; two sisters, Peggy Luffman, Patricia Beam; great grandchild, Alivia; and a brother-in-law, Michael Jacobson.

Carver worked for the City of Kewanee, he was the foreman for the street department and worked as a heavy equipment operator, retiring after 30 years. He worked for Kewanee Boiler, Mail-O-Graph, and Burger’s Junk Yard prior to the city. Carver enjoyed fishing, mowing his lawn, and spending time on the deck with the neighbors. He liked his big red Ford truck and motorcycles. He was a member of the Harley Owners Group, “HOG”. Carver would drop everything to help someone else. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and his dog, Benji.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the time of service on Friday, January 13, 2023, at Golnick-Schueneman Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 12:00 pm, Friday, January 13, 2023, at the funeral home. Pastor Andrew Christman will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery.
