Cecil "Rob" Adkison

Cecil R. "Rob" Adkison, 60, died Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria. Rob was born February 20, 1961, in Kewanee, the son of Judith (Pyle) Adkison Jones. Rob graduated from Wethersfield High School with the class of 1979. Rob was married to Penny Moss on September 17, 1983, at St. Peter's Evangelical Church, Kewanee; they were married for 38 wonderful years; she survives.

Rob is also survived by two sons, Jason (Kristen) Adkison, Kewanee, Joshua Adkison and special friend, Amber Waymoth, Altona; the pride of his life, his granddaughter, Kelsi Jo Adkison, whom he fondly called "Boo"; his mother, Judith Jones, Sheffield; sister, Connie Adkison, Kewanee; niece, Isabelle Mitchell, Kewanee; his mother-in-law, Marilyn Moss, Kewanee. sibling-in-laws, Pam Tarlton, TX, Cyndi Ross, TX, Debbie (Peter) Old, Australia, Greg (Vickie) Moss, MO, Jill (Irv) Kelman, Kewanee; Laura Moss, TN; niece, Cortney Brimer, AL; nephew, Trevor Moss, TN; and cousin, Jackie Kauffman, Kewanee. He was preceded in death by his sister, Cathy; beloved stepfather, William "Willie" Jones; father-in-law, Dean L. Moss; and two brothers-in-law, Steve Ross and Daryl Moss.

Rob worked for the City of Kewanee for 17 years for the public works department. He previously worked for Lindbeck Auto and Grebner's Motors. He enjoyed cooking, fishing, camping, and hunting. He liked helping his sons work on their vehicles and with their home improvement projects. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anybody that asked for his help. He loved telling a good "dad joke". Rob especially loved spending time with his family.

A Celebration of Life will be from 3:00 - 7:00 pm, Saturday, September 17, 2022, at the Elks Lodge. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Hook and Bullet Conservation Club. Please leave an online condolence for Rob's family at www.schuenemantumblesonfuneralhome.com.
