Charles “Chuck” E. Entas, 71, of Kewanee, died Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at his home. Chuck was born December 28, 1951, in Kewanee, the son of Anton J. and Rosemary F. (DeRoo) Entas. Chuck obtained his bachelor’s degree from Southern Illinois, majoring in English. He married Nancy Fisher; she preceded him in death in February 2011. He married Carol L. Andris in Kewanee, on September 9, 2017; she survives.
Chuck is also survived by his step children, Scott (Asya) Fisher, Gene (Amanda) DeValkenaere, Carrie (Ky) Shaw; grandchildren, Matthew, Erin, and Cara Fisher, Ayden and Cooper DeValkenaere, Alexander and Austin Shaw; brother, Tom (Diana) Entas; sisters, Beth (David) Bisschop, Ann (Marty) Stodgel; nieces and nephews, Angela (John) Schnibben, April (Chris) Woods, RoseMarie (Ian) Behringer, Martin (Amanda) Stodgel; and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Nancy Fisher.
Chuck served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam war; he was stationed on Guam and was on the crash rescue team. Chuck was a member of the Kewanee Elks Lodge, #724; Hook and Bullet; and the Holy Trinity Polish National Catholic Church. Chuck worked as an electrician and manager for LES in Wyoming, IL. He was also a lifelong farmer. He enjoyed wildflowers, bees, fruit trees; Chuck enjoyed nature. He enjoyed going west, especially to South Dakota. He enjoyed classical music and woodworking. During his younger years he enjoyed snowmobiling and fishing. Chuck was a jokester. He especially loved spending time with his family.
Visitation will be from 4:00 - 6:00 pm, Tuesday, January 2, 2023, at Golnick-Schueneman Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 am, Wednesday, January 3, 2023, at the Holy Trinity Polish National Catholic Church. Father John Cramer will officiate. Military Rites will be accorded by the Kewanee Veterans Council. A private family burial will be at a later date at Pleasant View Cemetery.
