Dale Baker Obituary

Dale W. Baker, 93, of Kewanee, died Sunday, November 20, 2022, at OSF St. Luke’s Medical Center. Dale was born July 10, 1929, in Rock Island, the son of Artie and Leona (Babcock) Baker. Dale attended Sherrard High School, graduating with class of 1948. Dale married Anna Belle Jipp on June 28, 1958, in Davenport; she preceded him in death on January 21, 2016.

Dale is survived by three sons, Steve (Joannie) Baker, St. Charles, MO, Bruce Baker, Auburn, CA, and Matthew (Yvette) Baker, East Dundee, IL; four grandchildren, Stephanie, Sarah, Abra, and Samantha Baker. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; sister, Karen Parker in 2021; and a son, Mark Baker in 2013.

Dale worked as a milkman until becoming the manager at Midland Country Club, he retired after 37 years. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Dale was a family man and enjoyed going to all of the boys’ sporting events, he also enjoyed fishing with his boys.

Visitation will be from 1:00 – 3:00 pm, Saturday, November 26, 2022, at Golnick-Schueneman Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 3:00 pm, Saturday, November 26, 2022, at the funeral home. Rev. Fr. Burnell F. Eckardt Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
