Daniel "Dan" Currier, 72 of Edwards, IL, formerly of Kewanee, passed away on Sunday, July 4, 2021 at Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria, IL. Dan was born on November 6, 1948 in Kewanee, IL; the son of Dean and Catherine (Huber) Currier. He married Janet Cullers on December 29, 1968, in Kewanee, IL; she survives. Dan is also survived by two children; Andrew Currier (Hollie Smith) of Peoria, IL and Amanda Currier of Pekin, IL; three grandchildren, Alexis Rivas, Wyatt Currier, and Jesse Currier. He has three surviving siblings; James R. (Jane) Currier of Chandler, AZ, Kathy (Jerry) Bewley of Wataga, IL, Mary (Arnold) Rebout of Kewanee, IL and a surviving mother-in-law Donna Cullers of Kewanee, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents and father-in-law William "Bill" Cullers. Dan attended Kewanee schools, then joined the US Navy in 1967 and proudly served his country on aircraft carrier USS Bon Homme Richard. After returning from the Navy, he received an associate degree in Civil Engineering from Morrison Technical Institute. Dan worked at the Illinois Department of Transportation for 30 years, retiring in 2002. He then continued contract work for the Illinois Department of Transportation, consulting on projects until 2006. In his free time, he enjoyed taking his children to BMX bicycle races, camping, raising and showing American Staffordshire Terriers and Staffordshire Terriers, traveling, and genealogy. He had a knack for making his ideas come to life, they all eventually turned into projects, of any kind. No matter how big or small the task was, he was dedicated to completing it. Dan was known for his generous nature and very giving heart. He will be remembered as a hardworking, dedicated, loving, and giving husband, father, "paw paw", brother, uncle, cousin, and friend. Private graveside services were held at Fairview Cemetery, Annawan IL.
