Obituary
Darlene Alice Elgin, 97, of Kewanee, IL passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 18, 2023. Darlene was born in Cornwall Township, in Atkinson, IL on April 9, 1926, the daughter of Raynard and Gertrude (Taylor) Doy. She attended County Grade Schools, Neponset High School, and Wethersfield High School. Darlene married Robert C. Elgin on April 19, 1947, in Kewanee.
She is survived by a few nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Raynard and Gertrude; husband, Robert C. Elgin; and four sisters, Marie Randle, Pearl VanDevoorde, Dorothy Thompson, and Norma Anthony.
Darlene loved to bowl and was very active in her younger years. She was a member of The Kewanee Ladies Bowling Hall of Fame.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 am, Monday, July 31, 2023, at Pleasant View Cemetery. Rich Williams will officiate. Please leave an online condolence for Darlene’s family at www.golnickschuenemanfh.com.
