Darlene I. Hill

Darlene I. Hill, 99, of Kewanee, died Thursday, January 25, 2024, at her granddaughter’s home in Jefferson City, Missouri. Darlene was born March 18, 1924, in Kewanee, the daughter of Percy B. and Ella M. (Ince) Davis. Darlene completed the 9th grade in Kewanee. She married John F. Hll on December 31, 1945; he preceded her in death on February 10,1984.

Darlene is survived by one son, John Hill; daughter-in-law, Sherry Hill; grandchildren, Nakole (Brandon) Wooley, John Hill, Jacob Hill, Lisa Hill, Teresa (Bill) Powell, and Jimmy Hill; and numerous great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, James Hill; a son in infancy; grandson, Jared Hill; and four siblings, Beverly Cole, Nina Salisbury, Amos Davis, and Basil Davis.

Darlene had her first job at 14 working at Wallsworth running machines.  Later she worked for the Boss Factory. Darlene spent a significant amount of time with her mother. She referred to her mother as her best friend. Darlene was a member of Grace Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed country music and was a sport fanatic, enjoying the Cubs and the Bears. Darlene also enjoyed children and baking. She was a wonderful mother, sister, grandmother and friend, her life lessons will live on in those who loved her.

Graveside Services will be at 1:00 pm, Friday, February 9, 2024, at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Pastor Andrew Christman will officiate. Please leave an online condolence for Darlene's family at www.golnickschuenemanfh.com.
