Obituary

David A. Rieker, 74, of Rock Island, passed away on June 23, 2023 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Des Moines, IA. A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 1, 2023 at Weerts Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until time of service. David was born on April 15, 1949 to Marion and Marjorie (Emerick) Rieker. He was united in marriage to Ina Belk on November 18, 1988 in Davenport. David was employed by Quest Liner in Blue Grass as a truck driver, a job he truly loved.

David loved God. He enjoyed playing bass guitar for various local bands. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. In lieu of memorials, please share more love and kindness to one another.

He is survived by his wife Ina; children, Ryan (Jami) Rieker of Neponset, IL; 3 Stepchildren, Hope Jungjohann, Josh (Maria) Jungjohann and daughter-in-law Valerie; 14 grandchildren, Tripp, Coy, Scout, Breck, Maely, Elodie, Stefani, Emilie, Alissa, Hailey, Katelynn, Marley, Memphis and Miles; 6 great grandchildren and one on the way in October; brother, Dan Rieker, Chris Rieker; and 1 sister, Mary Sprowls.

David was preceded in death by his parents; step-son Troy Jungjohann; a brother, Don.
