David "Dave" W. Murphy

David “Dave” W. Murphy, 67, of Kewanee, died Thursday, March 2, 2023, at his home. Dave was born June 18, 1955, in Kewanee, the son of Wilmer G. and Mable L. (Ensley) Murphy. Dave attended Kewanee Schools. Dave married Judy Rosebecke on April 26, 1984, in Lacon, IL; she preceded him in death on November 9, 2016.

Dave is survived by his son, Chad Wierzycki, Kentucky; two brothers, Gary and Dennis (Darlene); two sisters, Dawn (Donnie) Peed and Donna Schwigen; daughter, Roxanne (Jack) Morgan; two grandchildren, Steven Lambert, Kristina Hammond; nine great grandchildren, Randy, Jack, Myranda, Ryan, Drew, Dylan, Matthew, Amelia, Ariya; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two grandchildren, Randy and Brian Lambert; three sisters, Patricia, Sheila Schwigen, Sandy Wright; three brothers, William, Randall, Mike and a brother in infancy.

Dave worked for Kewanee Corp, LR Nelson, Peoria, and the City of Trinity Texas Water Department, where he retired from. Dave enjoyed watching WWF, old westerns, and his beloved dog, Angel. He also enjoyed having a few cocktails with his buddies on the weekends. He had a laugh that was contagious.

Graveside services will be at 1:00 pm, Thursday, March 9, 2023, at Pleasant View Cemetery. Pastor Andrew Christman will officiate.
