Donovan Stout Obituary

Donovan “Don” K. Stout, 94, of Annawan, died Sunday, March 3, 2024, at Allure of Prophetstown. Don was born April 5, 1929, in Lafayette at the family farm, the son of Eddis and Cora (King) Stout. Don is survived by his significant other, JoAnn Cathelyn.

Don is also survived by six children, Donna (Mike) DeReu, Buda, Jeri (Danny) Baker, Prophetstown, Mike (Jodi) Stout, Havana, Terry Stout, Annawan, Bobbe (Pam) Stout, Prophetstown, Francis (Becky) Stout, Annawan; 19 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; 15 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Earl Stout; and a sister, Margaret Berlin.

Don was a farmer. He also worked for the Railroad and Annawan Township. Don mowed for the Village of Annawan. He worked for Charlie Farmer/American Eagle Buildings, Inc, building pole barns. Don also worked as a tree cutter with his son, Terry for 20 years and in construction with his son, Mike for a few years.  Don was an animal lover, especially horses and dogs. He enjoyed playing cards, bowling, and watching Western movies. Don also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and mowing yards. He especially enjoyed the annual family fishing trip to Canada from 1980 – 2019.

Visitation will be 12:00 – 1:00 pm, Sunday, March 10, 2024, at Golnick-Schueneman Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm, Sunday, March 10, 2024, at the funeral home. Pastor Dan Wright will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Annawan-Alba Firefighters Association.
