Dorothy Sullivan Obituary

Dorothy L. Sullivan, 96, of Kewanee, died Sunday, December 6, 2020 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria. Dorothy was born August 2, 1924 in Kewanee, the daughter of Elmer and Maude (Ince) Kelly. Dorothy married Lester Sullivan on September 12, 1942 in Kahoka, MO; he preceded her in death on May 7, 1992.Dorothy is survived by one daughter, Jackie (Gary) Workheiser, Kewanee; nine grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; sister, Peggy Heath, Anson, TX; and brother, Elmer "Butch" Kelly, Kewanee. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two daughters and their husbands, Bonnie and Theodore Draves, Margaret and Charles Rodgers; five brothers, Jack, James, Ernie, Jerry and Tom Kelly; and one sister, Margaret Dyer.Dorothy was a homemaker. She enjoyed fishing and staying at cabins along the Rock and Illinois Rivers. She also enjoyed playing with her wild cat, Kelly Jo. She loved sewing at home for her grandchildren; and would mend clothes for anyone who needed it. Funeral Services will be at 11:00 am, Monday, December 14, 2020 at the Schueneman-Tumbleson Funeral Home. Pastor Kevin Drane will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the time of service on Monday, December 14, 2020 at the funeral home. Masks are required and please observe social distancing requirements.
