Eleanor "Nella" Moon

Eleanor “Nella” Moon, 96, of Garland Texas, formerly of Atkinson Illinois, passed away on May 8,2022. Nella was born August 3,1925 to Robert and Louisa James in Ponty Pridd , South Wales, United Kingdom.

During WWII she met, and in 1947 married the love of her life, Donald I. Moon of Atkinson Illinois. Don preceded her in death on June 9,1995. Her son Byron Moon also preceded her in death on December 2,2015 and her son James Moon preceded her in death on May 24,2016.

Nella is survived by her son, Dennis Moon; wife, Dina Moon of Corpus Christi, Texas; her daughter, Lisa McPherson Navarro; son in law, Frank Adams of Garland, Texas; grandson, Zachary McPherson Denton, Texas; granddaughter, Michelle Moon Ensley and husband James Ensley Kewanee, Illinois; great grandsons, Michael and David Ensley also of Kewanee, Illinois. As well as grandson, Bradley Moon of New Windson New Jersey; granddaughter, Jamie Townsend and husband Mike Townsend of Rusk, Florida; grandson, Jonathan Moon of Buda Illinois; granddaughter, Mandi Thurston and husband Adam Thurston of Wyanet, Illinois; great grandchildren, Addison, Torik, Tagert and Stryker Thurston also of Wyanet, Illinois.

Graveside services will be at 10:00 am, Friday, July 29, 2022, at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in the Masonic Garden. Pastor Andrew Christman will officiate. Please leave an online condolence for Eleanor’s family at www.golnickschuenemanfh.com.
