Flor Evangelista Obituary

Flor V. Evangelista, 83, of Davenport, formerly of Kewanee, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf. Flor was born November 12, 1941, in the Philippines, the daughter of Buenaventura and Josefa (Velasco) Evangelista.

Doctor E married Ricardo Manuel; he preceded her in death in 2017.  Doctor E is survived by two children, Angel Manuel and Tony (Lis) Evangelista; two grandchildren, Kingston and Rizzo; sisters, Mama Lita, Tita Merlie, Tito Chito; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and her tiny dogs.  Doctor E was self employed as a Medical Physician. Doctor E’s passion for healthcare was evident in her tireless commitment to delivering babies and caring for patients. The Lord blessed Doctor E with healing hands, always ready to provide comfort and aid. Doctor E’s testament to her deep-seated desire to give to others as she found joy in the act of completing paperwork and being in the room with her patient. Doctor E was an avid tennis player, playing with her friends would bring her so much joy.  When asked by her son “mom is there anyone that you couldn’t beat in tennis? Doctor E would respond with the classic Doctor E’s smile and chuckle,” yes, my good friend Helen Martineau. She is just so much better than me and is an extremely great tennis player” Doctor E in many cases would be seen making her rounds in her tennis skirt, it was one of her signature looks.  Doctor E enjoyed family trips to the Philippines enriching her life with adventure and the warmth of her heritage as she spent time with her sisters and her father and mother.  Her playful nature shone through in the loving way she would mess with her kids, a fond memory that will bring smiles for years to come. Above all Doctor E’s legacy was defined by her love for her patients, her giving nature, her classic “hair styles”, her large collection of shoes, and most of all her relentless support for her children. She never gave up on them, showering them with love and embodying the strength and resilience that will continue to inspire her family and all who knew her. Doctor E will be deeply missed, yet her extraordinary spirit will live on in the hearts of many.

We love you Mom.
