Garnet D. Humphreys

Garnet D. Humphreys, 99, of Kewanee, died Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at Hillcrest Home, Geneseo. Garnet was born October 4, 1923, in Kewanee, the daughter of Thomas B. and Zella (VanDuyn) Addis.

Garnet is survived by one son, Jim (Denise) Hodge; one daughter, Sue (Don) VanDeRostyne; one daughter in law, Barb Spear; seven grandchildren, Carrie (Todd) Winter, Chad (Wendy) Hodge, Trafton (Natosha) Hodge, Dena (AJ) Hodge-Bates, Alison (Jason) Mendenhall, Lonni (James) Long, Libby (Jason) Sturtevant; and 21 great grandchildren, Braeden (Valerie) , Madisen, Tyvin, Payten, Harper, Corbin, Cora, Collin, Austin, Kelli, Halie, Marley, Clayton, Joseph, Jamie, Tali, Lily, Kellan, Cameron, Saige, Lincoln; and two great-great grandchildren, Elena and Veronica. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack Humphreys; son, Dennis Hodge; and three sisters, Opal, Ruby and Betty.

Garnet worked as a beautician. She enjoyed working in the garden, taking care of flowers and plants. Garnet also enjoyed spending time with her family.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 am, Monday, July 24, 2023, at Golnick-Schueneman Funeral Home. Chaplain Wyatt Billingsley will officiate. Burial will be in Wethersfield Cemetery.
