Grayce B. Cox

Grayce B. Cox, 83, of Kewanee, died Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice House, Peoria. Grayce was born August 26, 1937 in New Bedford, Illinois, the daughter of John and Doris (Baxter) Lang. She graduated from Buda High School. Grayce is survived by nine children, Deborah (Charles) Buckman, Buda, Harold Cox Jr., St. Mary's, GA, Helen (Terry) Graff, Kewanee, Allen (Joy) Cox, Elberon, IA, Laura Sall, Kewanee, Mark Cox, Annawan, Michael (Bernadette) Cox, Kewanee, Dawn (Thomas) VanDamme, Kewanee, Jennifer (Brent) Pettersson, Kewanee; 28 grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Carla; three brothers and three sisters.Grayce worked at the Kewanee Public Hospital for 34 years. Grayce was very dedicated to her family and enjoyed spending time with all of her grandchildren. She loved people; she was always willing to lend a helping hand. She enjoyed sitting with the elderly. Grayce was a member of the VFW and walked in many parades. She was also a member of the First Christian Church.Graveside Services will be at 11:00 am, Saturday, July 24, 2021 at Galva Cemetery. Celebration of Life to follow at Grayce's Daughter's House at 1016 Simpson Ave, Kewanee. Funeral Services will be 2:00 pm, Monday, February 8, 2021 at Schueneman-Tumbleson Funeral Home. Pastor John Reside will officiate. Private family burial will be in Galva Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm, Monday, February 8, 2021 at the funeral home.
