Harold Hill Obituary

Harold Dean Hill, 92, of Kewanee passed away December 22, 2021. Born April 5, 1929 toCharles A. and Flossie E. (Klobes) Hill. He was a child of the Great Depression, of which heoften spoke. "Better to give, than to receive" was truly how he lived. Reared and educated inKewanee, he married his only love Mary Lou Yermolkatis on August 24, 1951. He served in theU.S. Army from 1951-1956 where he was stationed in Germany. He and his wife, Mary, raisedfour children Steven (JoEtta) Hill, Connie (Mark) Mancini, Michael (Robyn) Hill, and Patrick(Judi) Hill. His family grew adding 14 grandchildren: Eric (Libbi) Hill, Brian (Bree) Mancini, David(Marie) Mancini, Brittany Mancini, Brittany (Aaron) Coopman, Brandon (Sarah) Ince, Seth Hill,Nick Hill, Savannah Hill, Sydney Bauhman, Austin Baughman, Bryce Hill, Shay (Josh) Renner,and Kyrsten Hill, and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents andsiblings, James, Charles, John, Evelyn (Jones), Dolly (Ripka), and a daughter-in-law JoEtta Hill.He was a true family man who, with his wife, Mary, focused their entire lives on their family.Together they were the "World's Best Babysitters." They enjoyed making many family memoriesand going on vacations whenever possible. Harold enjoyed telling stories, studying history,listening to politics and sharing his knowledge with those he loved. At his request there will beno formal services. A cremation will be followed by a private committal of ashes at a later datewhere he and his wife will be united together again.
