Jacob "Jake" Swearingen

Jacob "Jake" M. Swearingen, 25, of Kewanee, died Friday, February 18, 2022. Jake was born August 7, 1996, in Kewanee, the son of Gary Shoen and Billie Swearingen. He attended Galva Schools. Jake is survived by his mother, Billie Garcia, Kewanee; dad, Tracy Stevens, Peoria; father, Gary Shoen (Kim Espinoza), Kewanee; papa, Jerry DeBord, Kewanee; papa and nana, Douglas and Glenda Carlson, Galva; grandma, Annie Shoen; brother, Brandon (Jasmine) Stevens, Wyoming; aunts, Wendy Swearingen, Kewanee, Kerry (Bill) Hallberg, Kewanee, Tracy (Kyle) Chayer, Altona, Brenda Rouch, Galva; Chris Carlson, Galva, Richelle DeBord, Waco, TX; close cousin, Michael Rouch; uncles, Joshua (Rose) Carlson, Kewanee, Bo (Cathy) Swearingen, Kewanee, Jeremy DeBord, Kewanee; nephews, Isaac and Zayne Stevens, Wyoming; several cousins; and close friend, Angela French, Kewanee. He was preceded in death by Norman and Bessie Swearingen, Butch Carlson, Gary (Chrissy) Nelson, Christy DeBord and George Shoen. Jake was a self-contractor for Michael Rouch. He was a member of the Baptist Church, Galva. Jake loved anything outdoors, fishing, swimming, camping and shooting guns. He loved being with family and listening to country music. A Celebration of Life will be from 11:00 am - 3:30 pm, March 12, 2022 at the American Legion, Galva. Memorials may be made to the family for a memorial fund to be established.
