Janice L. Rist

Janice L. Rist, 84, of Kewanee, died Thursday, April 8, 2021 passed away peacefully at home to be with her Lord. Janice was born March 2, 1937 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin; the daughter of Otis and Edna (Glass) Reese. She graduated from Rufus King High School, Milwaukee. Janice married Paul Rist on July 2, 1958; he preceded her in death on December 10, 2019.Janice is survived by her three children; Jeff (Dorothy Roe), Kewanee, Peggy Rose, TN, John (Terry Sauer), Kewanee; two grandchildren, Jessica (Kevin Petty) and Brian (Amber Sauer); and eleven great grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and grandparents.Janice worked in banks and was a bookkeeper for her husband's Paul's Office Equipment for 16 ½ years. She was a lay speaker for a time with Lafayette Methodist Church. She was a past member of Job's Daughters Bethel #2 in Milwaukee. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary #31 and the Flemish American Club. She enjoyed fishing, travel and church at the Church of Peace, Kewanee. Funeral services will be at 4:00 pm, Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at Schueneman-Tumbleson Funeral Home. Pastor Andrew Christman will officiate. Visitation will be from 3:00 pm until the time of the service at the funeral home. Masks are required and please observe social distancing requirements. A private burial will be in Toulon Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Church of Peace or Meals on Wheels at the Senior Center.
