Janice "Jan" G. Cook

Janice “Jan” G. Cook, 71, of Kewanee, died Monday, September 19, 2022, peacefully at her residence surrounded by her family. Jan was born May 8, 1951, in Kewanee, Illinois, the daughter of Leonard “Yit” and Lillian (Rynearson) Anderson. Janice married David Cook, in Kewanee on November 8, 1975; he survives.

Jan is also survived by two daughters, Lindsey (Steve) Dana, Kewanee, Laura (Dana) Schaefer, Kewanee; five grandchildren, Laini, Lilian, and Nathan Schaefer, Gracie and Benjamin Dana, all of Kewanee; two great grandchildren, Everlee Knobloch and Aliyana Carrera. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Greg Anderson.

Jan graduated from Kewanee High School with the class of 1969. She worked as a general manager/waitress at the Pioneer Club. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. She enjoyed music and dancing; she was a master at the hambone. Jan especially enjoyed spending time at the river with her family and friends.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm, Monday, September 26, 2022, at Golnick-Schueneman Funeral Home. Memorial services will be at 1:00 pm, Monday, September 26, 2022, at the funeral home.
