Jewneel Walker

Jewneel D. Walker, 88, of Kewanee, passed away Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Arcadia Care Kewanee. She was born November 20, 1937, the daughter of Sidney and Ethel (Peterson) Walker. Jewneel attended Alwood High School in Woodhull and graduated with the class of 1955. She married Donald E. Walker on June 30, 1965. He preceded her in death on June 28, 2012.

Jewneel is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers, Kenneth and Keith Walker.

Jewneel worked for former Kewanee Mail-O-Graph until 1964.  She then worked at Excelled Leather Coat Factory until her retirement in 2003. She enjoyed reading and traveling throughout the country with her husband, Donald. Jewneel was an avid bowler and a member of a league bowling with the Doug Irwin Accounting team until 2003. Jewneel was a member of Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church, Kewanee and was a dedicated Altar Guild worker.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Private burial services will be in Pleasant View Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Kewanee Humane Society or Saint Paul’s Lutheran Church, Kewanee. Online condolences for Jewneel’s family and friends may be left at golnickschuenemanfh.com.
