Joelynn "Jody" S. Griffin

Joelynn “Jody” S. Griffin, 71, of Kewanee, died Sunday, October 9, 2022, at her home. Jody was born July 15, 1951, in Kewanee, the daughter of Eddie and Jeanette (Cantrell) Hand. Jody attended Kewanee High School, graduating with the class of 1970. Jody married Kent Griffin on August 2, 1970; he survives.

Jody is also survived by two sons, Bruce Griffin, Kewanee, Tim Griffin (Whitney Greene), Kewanee; one daughter, Virginia McCormick, Peoria; two granddaughters, Faith (Steven) Orf, Union, MO, Hope McCormick, Peoria; one brother, Kenneth (Micky) Hand and one sister, Dorothea (Dennis) Hansen, both of Kewanee. She was preceded in death by her parents; and one nephew, Chad Hansen.

Jody worked at Royal Oaks Nursing Home for 28 years, prior to that she worked for HR Manor, Galesburg for 14 years. She enjoyed music, country oldies and especially Elvis. She was a dog lover. Jody had a close relationship with Jesus. She was a donor for the Red Cross. Jody loved spending time with her family, especially her trips with Kent to McDonalds.

Visitation will be from 10:30 – 11:30 am, Friday, October 14, 2022, at Golnick-Schueneman Funeral Home. Memorial services will be at 11:30 am, Friday, October 14, 2022, at the funeral home. Pastor Renee Kindle will officiate. Memorials may be made to Abilities Plus or the Henry County Humane Society, Kewanee.
