John G. Statz

John G. Statz, 72, of Kewanee, died Sunday, September 10, 2023, at OSF St. Luke’s Medical Center. John was born August 15, 1951, in Kewanee, the son of John Gerad and Evelyn Katherine (Slater) Statz. He attended Kewanee High School, graduating with the class of 1970. He also graduated from Black Hawk College.

John is survived by friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

He worked at K-Mart during his younger years. John worked on computers, doing jobs for Black Hawk and for other people who needed help with their computers. John was a movie buff. He also enjoyed following the ag reports and talking to friends on the phone.

Visitation will be from 10:00 – 11:00 am, Thursday, September 14, 2023, at Golnick-Schueneman Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am, Thursday, September 14, 2023, at the funeral home. Pastor Art Blegen will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Black Hawk East College Foundation.
