Joseph "Joe" E. Rosebeck

Joseph “Joe” E. Rosebeck, 88, of Kewanee, passed away, Sunday, November 24, 2024, at OSF St. Luke’s Medical Center, Kewanee. Joe was born April 11, 1936, the son of Sophia (Dolieslager) Rosebeck. Joe graduated from Kewanee High School with the 1954 class; during high school he was active in football for four years. He married Ida Meaker on December 15, 1957; they would’ve celebrated 67 years of marriage this year; she survives.

Joe is also survived by two sons, Curt (Leanna) Rosebeck, Black River Falls, WI, Tim (Penny) Rosebeck, Waukee, IA; six grandchildren, Tia Thompson-Huber, Kewanee, IL, Curtis Rosebeck, II and Blazin Rosebeck, Black River Falls, WI, Janessa (Zack) Fahey, Dallas, TX, Sophie Rosebeck, Waukee, IA, BreAnna (Kelvin) Dondlinger, Altura, MN; two step grandchildren, Tina Winter, Aberdeen, SD, and Samantha (Nick) Johnson, Papillion, NE; and four great grandchildren, Veronica and Valarie Dondlinger, MN, Riley and Jack Johnson, NE. Joe was preceded in death by his mother, Sophie; brother, Jerry; and a sister, Gloria Rosebeck Kitterman.

Joe was employed by the BNSF Railroad; he retired after working there for 40 years. He and Ida traveled to all 50 states; especially their trips to Branson, Missouri. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. He also enjoyed wintering with Ida in Florida and Texas for many years. Joe had a very competitive nature. Joe especially loved being at family gatherings and spending time with his grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 pm, Monday, December 2, 2024, at Golnick-Schueneman Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am, Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at the funeral home. Pastor Linnea Gustafson will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church or Autism Speaks, PO Box 37148, Boone, IA 50037.
