Joyce E. Harris

Joyce E. Harris, 85, of Kewanee, died Saturday, May 29, 2021 at Allure of Geneseo. Joyce was born November 15, 1935 in Port Byron, the daughter of Claude and May (Wilsey) McNaught. Joyce was reared and educated in Kewanee Schools.Joyce is survived by her daughter, Laura (Royal) Peed, Kewanee; siblings, Glennis (William) Brunner, Metamora, Michael (Mary Sue) McNaught, Madison, NC, Kathryn Griffin, Silver Springs, FL; four grandchildren, Ralph R. Peed (Mechelle Daniels), Kewanee, Rachel (Edward) Farwell, Bettendorf, Kelly (Matthew) Duytschaver, Kewanee, Kerry Peed (Beau Baumbach), Bettendorf; nine great grandchildren, McKynzie, Matthew, Michael, and Emma Peed, Leah, and Dominick Farwell, Jersie, Lyric, and Hudson Duytschaver; and one great-great grandson, Easton Peed. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Kirk Olson; brother, Dean McNaught; sister, Betty Brown; and two brothers in law, Thomas Griffin and Al Brown.Joyce owned her own restaurant, farmed, was a meter maid for city of Kewanee, and a waitress. Joyce enjoyed traveling and finding good places to eat. She was a fantastic cook, enjoyed painting and decorating houses. She had a great love of animals. Joyce loved people and made friends everywhere she went. She especially loved spending time with her family and friends.Visitation will be from 10:00 am - 11:00 am, Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at Schueneman-Tumbleson Funeral Home. Memorial services will be at 11:00 am, Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at the funeral home. Services will also be live streamed on Schueneman-Tumbleson Funeral Home's facebook page. Pastor Jon Vincent will officiate. Burial will be at Pleasant View Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Pets for Seniors, 3809 Sterling Ave, Peoria, IL 61612 or Hospice Compassus.
