Judy Huggins

Judy E. Huggins, 75, of Kewanee, died Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at Royal Oaks Care Center. Judy was born September 24, 1946, in Kewanee, the daughter of William and Gladys (Calvert) Durnil. She attended Kewanee High School with the class of 1964. Judy married Wiley "Dewey" Huggins on March 15, 1974, in Kewanee; he preceded her in death on August 5, 1983.Judy is survived by her mother, Gladys; children, Michael (Amy Heaton) Huggins, Kewanee, Elaina (Daniel) Gibbs, Plainfield, IN, Kimberley (Brian Shoen) Huggins, Kewanee; stepsons, Wiley (Sheryl) Huggins, Washington, IL, Billy (Susan) Huggins, Rockford; grandchildren, Michael, William, Summerlynn, Matthew, Adaline, and Chase Huggins, Haylea, Korbin, and Keegan Gibbs; brother, Michael Durnil, Kewanee; and a sister, Betty Dison, Kewanee. She was preceded in death by her father; husband; stepson, Robert Huggins; grandson, Austin Huggins; sister-in-law, Carol Durnil; and brother-in-law, Don Dison.Judy was a homemaker, during her later years she worked at Courtyard Estates as a Residential Assistant. Judy was a member of the First Christian Church; she had a love for Jesus. She enjoyed going for drives in the country. She also enjoyed playing bingo and winning stuffed animals for her grandchildren. Her home was always open to her friends and family; she especially loved her grandchildren.Visitation will be from 3:00 - 5:00 pm, Sunday, October 24, 2021, at Schueneman-Tumbleson Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be at 10:30 am, Monday, October 25, 2021, at the funeral home. Pastor Brian Giese will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Kewanee Schools Foundation for a Scholarship to be established at a later date.
