Kathleen Johnson

Kathleen F. Johnson, 94, of Kewanee, died Monday, April 12, 2021 at Kewanee Care Home. Kathleen was born September 8, 1926 in Kewanee, the daughter of Stanislaus and Katherine (Thurwanger) Kutchma. She attended Visitation Grade School and graduated from Kewanee High School. Kathleen married Albert "Ted" Johnson in 1948; they later divorced but remained friends.Kathleen is survived by one brother, Joseph (Elaine) Kutchma, Kewanee; and nephews and nieces, Randy Kutchma, Christy DeSmit, Pam Neirynck, Kevin (Michele) Kutchma. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Loretta Kutchma; and special friend, Duane "Dug" Grimes.Kathleen worked as a seamstress for Boss Manufacturing. She was a matron of Whiting Home and did domestic work. She worked at Kewanee Machinery and Conveyor. Kathleen was a member of the Holy Trinity Polish National Catholic Church and the Flemish American Club. She enjoyed flowers and birdwatching. Kathleen also enjoyed quilting. Graveside services will be at 11:00 am, Friday, April 16, 2021 at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Masks required and please observe social distancing guidelines. Father John Cramer will officiate.
