Krystal D. Vallero, 63, passed away Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at her home. Krystal was born February 22, 1962, in Kewanee, the daughter of William “Bill” H. and Carol S. (VanWaes) Brackett. Krystal attended Kewanee High School, graduating with the class of 1980.
Krystal is survived by her father, Bill; children, Casey (Kevin) Robison, Magnolia, IL, Aaron “Mickey” (Brigid) Haun, Lombard, IL; nine grandchildren, Teagan, Alyssa, Caiden, Kobey, Colten, Kingston, Valynn, Owen, Liam; great grandson, Kaizen; siblings, Kim (Jim) Sellers, Kewanee, Kelli (Randy) Jackson, Kewanee, William “Billy” L. (Hilary) Brackett, Milan; half- sister, Carla (Bob) Fuller, Champaign; partner, Lester Nordeen; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother.
Krystal worked as a paraprofessional and a library aide for Kewanee Schools. She was a familiar and welcome presence in her apartment complex, where she visited neighbors, offering a listening ear and a helping hand. Her kindness extended beyond her immediate surroundings to the local nursing home, where she was a daily visitor. Krystal was known for her fondness for Pepsi. Above all, Krystal's children, grandchildren, and great-grandson were her very heartbeat.
Visitation will be from 4:00 – 6:00 pm, Friday, January 2, 2026, at Golnick-Schueneman Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 6:00 pm, Friday, January 2, 2026, at the funeral home. Reverend Ed Jones will officiate. Burial will be at a later date at Pleasant View Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family or OSF Healthcare Children's Hospital of Illinois, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Peoria.
