Laura J. McKee

Laura J. McKee, 53, of Kewanee, died Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria. Laura was born May 14, 1968, in Kewanee, the daughter of Keith and Leanna (Cantrell) Williams. She attended Wethersfield Schools, graduating with the class of 1987. Laura married Roger McKee on October 14, 1989, in Kewanee at the First United Methodist Church.Laura is survived by her parents; husband, Roger McKee, Kewanee; daughter, Sara (Raj) Donepudi, Wentzville, MO; granddaughter, Evangeline "Evie" Donepudi; sister, Lisa (Joel) Hasse, Kewanee; sister-in-law, Phyllis McKee, Dubuque, IA; niece and nephews, Will (Tori Welch), Jacob, Liliana, and Daniel Hasse; and great niece and nephew, Anna, and Bear Hasse. She was preceded in death by her father and mother-in-law, Robert and Delores McKee, maternal grandparents, William and Helen Cantrell; and paternal grandparents, Joe and Betty Williams.During her younger years she worked for Kroger's, Walmart, and Ace Distribution in Princeton. Laura was a homecare specialist and loved children. She was a member of Encounter Church. Laura loved to watch the squirrels and the birds in the yard and going for car rides to the parks. She enjoyed going shopping with Sara. Laura loved going to church, meeting new people, and praying for them. She especially loved being a Nana.Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 pm, Friday, July 16, 2021 at Schueneman-Tumbleson Funeral Home. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the memorial service on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at Encounter Church. Memorial services will be at 11:00 am, Saturday, July 17, 2021 at Encounter Church. Pastor Stephen McGough will officiate. Memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
