Lauretta “Laurie” J. Wotring, 80, of Kewanee, passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at Hillcrest Home in Geneseo. Laurie was born November 12, 1943, in Kewanee, the daughter of Floyd F. and Annellie “Nellie” (Antonavich) Baker. Laurie graduated from Kewanee High School and later obtained an associate degree as an LPN. Laurie married Lawrence “Larry” Wotring on February 23, 1974, at the Church of peace; he preceded her in death on November 16, 2023.
Laurie is survived by her son, James (Pamela) Anderson, Kewanee; grandchildren, Carly (Tommy), Kalynn (Dan Hejl), and Wes (Liz Hahn) Anderson; and four great grandchildren, Evelynn Anderson, Kohlsyn Hahn, Donavin Hoffmann, Daimien Hoffmann. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Larry; and a sister, Yvonne “Bonnie” Raley.
Laurie worked as an LPN for Kewanee Hospital for 20+ years. She and Larry enjoyed traveling to Hawaii every year from 1984 until 2004. They then switched to spending their winters in San Marcos, Texas and Victoria, Texas from 2005 until 2020. She enjoyed shopping and ceramics. During her younger years she enjoyed flower gardening.
Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 pm, Thursday, September 26, 2024, at Golnick-Schueneman Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am, Friday, September 27, 2024, at the funeral home. Pastor Andrew Christman will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Henry County Humane Society, Kewanee.
