Margaret L. Donaldson

Margaret L. Donaldson, 103, of Kewanee, went to be with her Lord on Friday, October 1, 2021 at her daughter's home, surrounded by her family. Margaret was born November 25, 1917, in Blandinsville, IL, the daughter of Dale and Alice Effie (Gaumer) Hamilton. Margaret graduated from Wethersfield High School with the class of 1936. She married Robert Donaldson on November 25, 1937 in Kewanee; he preceded her in death on October 20, 2003.Margaret is survived by one son, Robert Donaldson, West Chesterfield, OH; two daughters, Margo Tunnicliff, San Bernardino, CA, April (Bob) Holmes, Kewanee; three grandchildren, Dan Holmes, Preston Tunnicliff, Sue Stairwalt; three great grandchildren, Rhonnie Stairwalt, Anthony Stairwalt, and Luke Tunnicliff; two brothers, Thomas "Jack" (Eloise) Hamilton, San Bernardino, CA, Marvin Hamilton, Normal, IL; and one sister, Martha Eucaski, Kewanee. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three brothers, Kenneth, Dale Jr., Milton Hamilton; three sisters, Marilyn Whisker, Mildred Bierman, and Katheryn Logan. Margaret worked as a bookkeeper for Gerwigs Clothing Store, and Dooley Brothers Plumbing and Heating, having retired in 1984. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, where she enjoyed being involved, she was a deaconess and received the Deaconess Ameritas Recognition for her years of service. Margaret was also a member of the Crusaders Sunday School, she also cooked for the Kids Club for many years. She enjoyed music and painting China with her friends. She especially loved spending time with her family and her second family at the First Baptist Church.Visitation will be from 5:00 - 7:00 pm, Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at Schueneman-Tumbleson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am, Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at the First Baptist Church. Pastor Jon Vincent will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery.
