Margaret “Peggy” A. Hand, 81, of Bradford, passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at OSF St. Luke’s Medical Center, Kewanee. Margaret was born July 15, 1943, in Bradford, the daughter of Robert Palmer Webber, Jr. and Lillian Pearl (Drummond). Margaret attended Toulon Schools. She married James “Jim” Hand, Sr. on October 14, 1961, in Osceola; he survives.
Margaret is also survived by four children, James H. (Shari) Hand, Jr., Beaufort, SC, Cindy Spears, Kewanee, Terry (Tammy) Hand, Toulon, Susan (Phil) VanWassenhove, Osceola; ten grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; four siblings, Patricia Angelo, Abingdon, Robert Webber, MI, Crystle Hand, Elmira, Ronald Webber, AL; brother-in-law, Kent Vigor; and a sister-in-law, Diane Webber. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers and a sister-in-law, James Webber, Michael and Debbie Webber, and Terry Webber; brother-in-law, John Hand; sister-in-law, Becky Vigor; son-in-law, Jesse Spears; and a grandson, Brian Hand.
Margaret was a homemaker. She worked as a volunteer at the Abilities Plus Retail Store for 40+ years. She was a member of Bunker Hill Church, she enjoyed helping with vacation Bible School, teaching Sunday School, and working in the kitchen. During her younger years she enjoyed camping, fishing and bowling with Jim and the family. Margaret enjoyed gardening and going to garage sales. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grand and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10:00 – 11:00 am, Friday, February 21, 2025, at Bunker Hill Church, Buda. Memorial Services will be at 11:00 am, Friday, February 21, 2025, at the church.
