Martha Euchaski

Martha E. Euchaski, 101, of Kewanee, died Tuesday, October 20, 2021 at Kewanee Care Home. Martha was born June 14, 1920 in Kewanee, the daughter of Dale and Alice (Gaumer) Hamilton. She graduated from Wethersfield High School with the class of 1938. She married John Euchaski in Kahoka, MO, on August 15, 1942; he preceded her in death on July 13, 1976.Martha is survived by a son, John (Jackie) Euchaski, Jr., Lafayette, LA; a daughter, Jane (Lyle) Kenaga, Gulf Breeze, FL; five grandchildren, Lance (Patches) Euchaski, Baton Rouge, LA, Brett (Jamie) Euchaski, Monroe, LA, Shannon (Donna) Price, St. Anne, IL, Nicole (Justin) Williams, Clinton, IL, Kristin (Tyson) Keever, Port Orange, FL; nine great grandchildren; and two brothers, Thomas "Jack" (Eloise) Hamilton, San Bernadino, CA, Marvin Hamilton, Normal, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Jeffrey; four sisters, and three brothers.Martha was a mom, a grandmother and a great grandmother. She enjoyed working, cooking, providing for and helping others, and was always thankful for her many blessings. She loved children, especially her cafeteria kids at the school. And most of all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Martha enjoyed sports, of which her sons were a big part of growing up, and always kept up with Wethersfield football games, which her sons participated in. She also loved her Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs, when not televised, she listened to the radio to keep up with their games. After the loss of her husband, John Euchaski, she remained independent in her home in Kewanee for 43 years. Unfortunately, at the age of 99 ½ she required total assistance. Her family and friends were truly blessed for the many years of her "gift of life". Funeral services will be at 10:30 am, Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Schueneman-Tumbleson Funeral Home. Pastor Kevin Drane will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Boulevard, Staten Island, NY 10306.
