Mary M. Wright

Mary Wright, 90, of Kewanee, died Saturday, September 25, 2021, at Toulon Health and Rehabilitation Center. Mary was born May 12, 1931, in Kewanee, the daughter of Barney J. and Hattie E. (Middleton) VanDierendonck. Mary married Lee R. Wright August 28, 1959, they later divorced.Mary is survived by two daughters, Sue (Dave) Hollenberg, Roseville, IL, Beth (Ron) Bognar, Kewanee; three grandchildren, Wendy (Frank) Huston, Brenda (Branson) Parks, Rachel (Michael) Heberer; three great grandchildren, Alexandra Huston, Justin Parks, Sloane Heberer; sisters, Sally Schertzer, Kirksville, MO, Barb (Jim) Breedlove, Walworth, WI; brother, Bill VanDierendonck, Princeton; sister-in-law, Mary Jo VanDierendonck, Kewanee; and fourteen nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Bob "Ding" and Jim VanDierendonck; and two sisters, Dorothy Lanxon and Elaine Marks.Mary worked in retail at Sears, Osco Drug, Machinery Conveyor, and Walmart, having retired in 1994. She enjoyed the class of 1948 Kewanee High School alumni. She was dedicated to her family genealogy, she found family and visited them in Holland. She was a St. Louis Cardinals fan, Yadier Molina, Jim Edmonds, and Red Schoendienst were some of her favorite players. She liked country music; the Statler Brothers were her favorite. She also enjoyed attending Neil Diamond concerts and playing a card game called I Buy. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the time of service on Wednesday, September 29, 2021, at Schueneman-Tumbleson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 12:00 pm, Wednesday, September 25, 2021, at the funeral home. Pastor Mara Ahles-Iverson will officiate. Memorials may be made to Kewanee Schools Foundation or to the Kewanee Chamber of Commerce in care of the fireworks fund.
