Michael A. Moraski, Sr., 83, passed away Sunday, June 22, 2025, surrounded by his family. Michael was born June 20, 1942, in Kewanee, the son of John “Jack” Michael and Rose Julia (Thurwanger) Moraski. Michael married Antoinette “Toni” Bruno on June 22, 1963, in Baltimore, Maryland; she survives.
Michael is survived by two sons, Michael A. Moraski, Jr. Aurora, Colorado, Chris (Jill) Moraski, Kewanee; ten grandchildren, Ashley (Lisa) Wilcox-Baumes, Ryan Moraski, Michaella (Luke) DeReu, Abbey (David) McCall, Corbin (Amanda) Uitermarkt, Rory Moraski, Sidney (Nick) Marino, Rachael Moraski (Cole Bennett), Madelynn Uitermarkt, Christopher Colomer; 13 great grandchildren and another on the way; two siblings, Jack Moraski, Jim (Rosella) Moraski; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister-in-law, Judy Moraski.
Michael served his country in the United States Navy; he was stationed in Norfolk, Virginia, where he meet the love of his life, Toni on a blind date, after 62 years of marriage their love was still strong. He worked at Kewanee Boiler, International Harvester, and later for Xerox from where he retired in 1995. Michael had a passion for yardwork and the art of woodworking. The furniture he crafted by hand was not only a testament to his skill but also a legacy of love. Michael's Sundays were sacred, reserved for family dinners that became a cherished tradition. His sons and grandchildren were the apple of his eye, and Michael never missed an opportunity to support them. He was a constant presence at their basketball games, cheering from the stands with pride. His encouragement and presence were a source of inspiration and comfort to his grandchildren, who knew they could always count on their grandfather's unwavering support.
Private family graveside services will be held at later date. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery. Military Rites will be accorded by the Kewanee Veterans Council. Online condolences may be left for Michael’s family at www.golnickschuenemanfh.com.
