Michael "Mike" Lopez

Michael “Mike” Lopez, 86, of Kewanee, died Wednesday, April 10, 2024, at his home. Mike was born February 23, 1938, in Los Angeles, CA, the son of Michael and Consuelo (Rico) Lopez. He attended Cathedral High School in LA and was very involved in sports. He married Carla Anderson on August 8, 1987, in Las Vegas; she preceded him in death on October 26, 1997.

Mike is survived by his children, Joseph Lopez, Kathy Schellbach, Michael Lopez; multiple grandchildren; multiple great grandchildren; stepchildren, Rodney Johnson, Wayne Johnson; sister, Carmen, her husband Trini Tostado, San Gabriel, CA; numerous nieces and nephews; and his extended family, Ron and Kay Schwarz, Jason and Shannon Schwarz and their family. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife.

Mike worked as a lineman for Southern California Edison and at Ameren. He was a member of Saint John Paul II Parish. Mike was the life of the party; he enjoyed dancing. He enjoyed playing horseshoes and bowling. Mike was a Raiders and Rams fan. He especially loved his family; he always went out of his way to make sure they were taken care of.
