Michael "Mykie" L. Blanks, Jr.

Michael “Mykie” L. Blanks, Jr., 30, of Davenport, formerly of Kewanee, died Tuesday, March 28, 2023. Mykie was born June 1, 1992, in Kewanee, the son of Michael, Sr. and Tracy (Sauer) Blanks; they survive. Mykie attended Kewanee Schools.

Mykie is also survived by sisters, Heather (Corey) Reese, Wyoming, Candis Murphey Gradert, Kewanee, Amanda Bond (Patrick Hines), Kewanee, Dominique Blanks, California, Aubrey Bond, Kewanee, Melinda Blanks, Kewanee; grandparents, William Davis, Sr., Kewanee, Sheree Blanks, Mississippi; fiancé, James Champion, Davenport, IA; aunts and uncles, Terry (John) Rist, Kewanee, Larry (Heidi) Sauer, Texas, Laman (Shelli) Sauer, Kewanee, Rena (Horrace) Howell, Kewanee, Trena (Albert) Bovan, Peoria, David Blanks, California, Bill Davis, Jr., Bloomington-Normal; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and his beloved cat, Bellatrix. He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Lawrence and Laurel Sauer; paternal grandparent, Mildred Blanks; uncles, Boyd Davis and Matthew Blanks; and an aunt, Theresa Blanks.

Mykie was very artistic, he loved drawing, especially portraits. He loved music, basketball, and his beloved cat, Bellatrix. He enjoyed making Tik Toks, had a great sense of humor, and loved telling a good joke. Mykie enjoyed hanging out with family and friends.
