Nicholas "Nick" A. Johnson, 58, of Kewanee, died Monday, October 25, 2021, at OSF St. Luke's Medical Center. Nick was born January 11, 1963, in Kewanee, the son of Oliver "Bud" and Katie (DeConinck) Johnson. Nick graduated from Wethersfield High School with the class of 1981. He attended Monmouth College where he was in the ATO Fraternity. Nick married Paula Gale on May 31, 2018, in Cambridge; she survives.Nick is also survived by his dad, Bud Johnson, Kewanee; one son, Lucas Johnson; stepdaughter, Ashley Gale, Sterling; siblings, Christina (Peter) Tanzillo, Kewanee; Michael Quagliano, Chicago; four nieces, Michele, Amy, Trisha, Amber; two nephews, Riley, Quinton; and ten great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother; maternal grandparents, Albert and Patricia DeConinck; paternal grandparents, Oliver S. and Oralee Johnson.Nick worked at Pines/Great Dane for numerous years and Katie's House of Steaks, Kewanee. Nick owned Rookie's Food and Spirits in Bradford. And also worked at Shallowbrook Farms and Wanee Theater. Nick enjoyed many sports, especially golf, the Chicago Cubs and Bears. He was a basketball, football, baseball official. Nick especially enjoyed spending time with his family.Visitation will be from 1:30 - 3:30 pm, Saturday, October 30, 2021, at Schueneman-Tumbleson Funeral Home. Masks are required, please observe social distancing guidelines. Funeral Services will be 3:30 pm, Saturday, October 30, 2021, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
