Paula M. Byers

Paula M. Byers, 66, of Kewanee, died Thursday, January 21, 2021 at her home. Paula was born February 6, 1954 in Lacon, Illinois the daughter of Paul Caplinger and Evelyn Lenz. Paula is survived by her significant other, Terry Nichols, Kewanee; daughter, Karma (Marcus) Winn, La Moille, Illinois; stepdaughters, Terri Ann (Thomas) Green, Holts Summit, MO; Kristine (Jake) Baldwin, Manchester, IA; three grandchildren, Patrick, Marcus Jr., Cody; and five step grandchildren, Nakole, John, Jake, Paige, Kaden. She was preceded in death by her parents; step grandson, Jared Hill; and her best friend, Susan Harris.Paula was an LPN for St. Francis Hospital, Peoria and at St. Margaret's Hospital, Spring Valley. Paula loved watching the Kentucky Derby, and thoroughly enjoyed her trip to watch the event. Paula enjoyed traveling with Terry to Vegas and Barbados. Paula enjoyed watching sports and playing softball. She loved animals, especially horses and dogs. Paula especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.Graveside services will be 11:00 am, Thursday, January 28, 2021 in Wethersfield Cemetery. Pastor Andrew Christman will officiate. Masks are required and please observe social distancing guidelines. Burial will be in Wethersfield Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Kewanee Humane Society.
