Peggy L. Janik

Peggy L. Janik, 61, of Kewanee, died Sunday, October 2, 2022, at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home. Peggy was born July 30, 1961, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Glen A. and Gretchen H. (Hackel) Schwass. She obtained her associates degree from Triton College, Chicago.

Peggy is survived by daughter, Julie Janik, Kewanee; son, Stanley (Johanna) Janik, Peoria; one sister, Trudy (Jim) Ferguson, Pembrook Pines, FL; and one niece, Jennifer Ferguson. She was preceded in death by her parents; and one sister, Heidi Schwass.

Peggy worked at Goodwill in Kewanee, until retiring in 2020. She enjoyed cooking, researching, and playing Pac-Man. Peggy also enjoyed traveling and family vacations, especially going to Chicago. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church.

Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 pm, Wednesday, October 5, 2022, at Golnick-Schueneman Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am, Thursday, October 6, 2022, at the funeral home. Pastor Paul Weber will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Hammond, Indiana. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
