Phillip Gaught Obituary

Phillip A. Gaught, 59, of Peoria, died Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at UnityPoint Health- Methodist Hospital, Peoria. Phillip was born July 26, 1962, in Huntsville, Alabama, the son of Leonard and Violet (Cantrell) Gaught. He married Karen Jenkins; they later divorced but remained close friends.

Phillip is survived by his mother, Violet; four siblings, Linda (Gary) Stevens, Prairieville, LA, Donald (Debbie) Gaught, West Peoria, IL, James (Vicki) Gaught, Chattanooga, TN, Peggy Bell, Peoria, IL; several nieces and nephews; numerous great nieces and nephews; and ex-wife, Karen. He was preceded in death by his father and a nephew.

Phillip served in the Army National Guard. Phillip drove semi-truck over the road and later drove as a yard jockey. He enjoyed playing guitar and shooting pool. He also enjoyed working. Phillip was a great caregiver to his mother.
