Raymond "Ray" V. Moreland, Sr.

Raymond “Ray” V. Moreland, Sr., 75, of Kewanee, died Sunday, August 11, 2024, surrounded by family at his home. Ray was born June 12, 1949, in Princeton, the son of Donald R. Moreland and Julia J. (Hicks) Lucke. He attended Kewanee and Henry Schools. Ray married Julia Ann Murphy on August 24, 1968, in First United Methodist Church, Kewanee; she survives.

Ray is also survived by Amy (Matt) Bullock, Kewanee, Debbie (Jason) Mercer, Kewanee, Raymond (Kristen) Moreland, Jr., Kewanee; seven grandchildren, Andrew (Sarah) Bullock, Lucas Bullock, Logan (Morgan) Bullock, Frankie (Sean) Murchison, Jailynn Mercer, Gage Moreland, Lani Moreland; four great grandchildren, Connor, David, Danny, and Isaac Bullock; sister-in-law, Cathy Moreland, Buda. He was preceded in death by his parents; step dad, Donald “Red” Lucke; step mom, Helen Moreland; siblings, Donald “Bud”, Bonny “Bond”, Del Edwards, Larry, and Danny Moreland.

Ray worked at Pines/Great Dane. He was also a farm hand and repo man during his younger years. He collected lighters, pins, and belt buckles. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and tinkering with small engines. Ray fiercely loved his family; he enjoyed attending grandkids activities.
