Rebecca "Becky" Kilby

Rebecca “Becky” L. Kilby, 75, of Kewanee, died Saturday, December 24, 2022, at Royal Oaks Care Center. Becky was born March 31, 1947, in Kewanee, the daughter of Raymond and Florence (VanHecker) Jacobson. Becky attended Kewanee High School, graduating with the class of 1966. Becky married Monte K. Kilby on December 14, 1968, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Kewanee; he preceded her in death on February 19, 2019.

Becky is survived by two daughters, Terri Henderson and Jenny Osbourne; two granddaughters, Amanda Barrett and Olivia Jordan; four great granddaughters, Kathryn and Kaci Barrett, and Remedy Hernandez and Ophelia McCarty, all of Kewanee; she is also survived by a sister, Patricia (Bob) Morris, California. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Robert and Kenneth Jacobson; sisters, Caroline Dison and Mary Martens; and a sister in infancy, Catherin.

Becky worked for Kraft Cheese in Manlius, Jostens in Princeton, but her main job was raising her children and helping Monte on the farm. She was a member of Saint Stanislaus Church and Saint John Paul II Parish. Becky enjoyed planting flowers and making wreaths. Becky was a city girl, but became a country girl; she loved being on the farm.

Rosary Service will be at 4:30 pm, Thursday, December 29, 2022, at Golnick-Schueneman Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 pm, Thursday, December 29, 2022, at the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 am, Friday, December 30, 2022, at Saint John Paul II Parish. Father Johndamaseni Zilimu will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery.
