Richard "Dick" Ratliff

Richard "Dick" D. Ratliff, 82, of Kewanee, died Sunday, October 10, 2021 at Canterfield of Fort Myers, FL. Dick was born May 22, 1939 in Kewanee, the son of Dale A. and Mary H. (Lovejoy) Ratliff. He graduated from Wethersfield High School with the class of 1957. Dick married Christine A. Ptashnik on March 19, 1961 at the First Baptist Church, Kewanee; she preceded him in death on November 4, 2019.Dick is survived by two daughters, Susan (Michael) McBride, Cape Coral, FL, Julie (Brad) Bryan, Wimauma, FL; four grandchildren, Tara (Shane) Carroll, Fort Myers, FL, Zachary (Nicole) McBride, Fort Myers, FL, Mackenzie Bryan, St. Petersburg, FL, Shelby Bryan, Sale Creek, TN; a brother-in-law, Jim Roose, Wichita, KS; and a sister-in-law, Marianne Stuckey, Geneseo, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and a sister, Gayle Roose.Dick served his country in the United States Army for six years. Dick was an operating engineer for Ratliff Brothers and Company. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon, an usher and he was part of the Berean Sunday School group. Dick was also a member of the Shriners, Masons, and Scottish Rites. He served on the Wethersfield School Board for ten years. He was a private pilot, enjoyed photography, and traveling with Chris, especially to Disney World. Graveside services will be at 10:00 am, Saturday, November 6, 2021 at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
